Preconstruction

Dream

Before starting any work on your project, we want to learn all about your vision for the new building and to get excited about the possibilities with you. That is why our process always starts with a 1-hour consultation at the project location so we can fully visualize your dream space.

Budget

The most commonly asked question for any project we work on is “what does it cost?”. As soon as we understand the scope of work for your project, we will provide you with a ballpark budget. This can typically be done during our 1-hour onsite consultation using our square footage averages.

Designs

Our design team will sit down with you to discuss the function and aesthetic of your project so that we can put ideas to paper. The design phase can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks, depending on how many revisions we go through before you approve the designs.

Permits

Our administration staff will take care of all the drawings, engineering, and municipal paperwork needed to get a permit issued for your custom shop project. This part of the process can take anywhere from 1-6 months, as it is dependent on the local authorities.

Construction Phase 1: Preparation

With the designs and permits in place, our team will begin preparing the site for construction. During the preparation phase, we will ensure all surveys, land clearing, environmental requirements, and civil work is completed to the highest standards.

Construction Phase 2: Excavation

The excavation phase is all about getting your project off the ground. At this point, we will bring in services, build the foundation, install drainage, and backfill the excavated space.

Construction Phase 3: Framing

During the framing phase, an efficiently managed crew of carpenters will build the structure of the building, using best practices and trade secrets.

Construction Phase 4: Cladding

Once all of the structural inspections have been performed and passed, we will being working on the roof and wall finishes for the new building. Doors and windows are installed in this phase.

Construction Phase 5: Lock-Up

If you are having an unheated shop space built, this is the final phase of your project. At this point, we will install the locks and hand over the keys to you.

Construction Phase 6: Interior Finishes

For heated spaces, we will insulate the building and begin the interior finishes, including wall metal, electrical fixtures, heaters, mezzanines, offices, bathrooms, golf simulators, and anything else you can dream of.

Construction Phase 7: Final Walkthrough

Our project managers will oversee the final inspections and will walk through the space with you to make sure you are completely satisfied with the end result. We also provide a 2-year workmanship warranty to give you complete peace of mind and usher you into decades of enjoyment!
